yeah

the names are related to one of the goat cultures and its mythology. i must create the goat languages!

Space-goats live in a solar system rich in liquid water and organic compounds, which has given rise to a curious pile-up of planets, moons, and strange features that create a vast range of conditions for, and an equally great variety of, forms of life.

Blue Yonder, the primary locus of water-loving life in the Nocebo system, is circled by three water-bearing moons: Kiln, Waterfall, and Drywinds, in order of their distance from their parent planet.

~The most important locales, in reverse order:
Drywinds: the homeworld of the space-goats, a small, arid moon that has lost most of its water over time, forming a wispy, tenuous ring of gas in orbit called the Outer Mist Belt. Its surface is dotted by lakes, rivers, and small seas, and most of its life exists in deep basins where the oceans once were, and where most of the remaining atmosphere now lays.

Waterfall: Drywinds' lush sister, and unlike its little sibling, its surface is mostly ocean, dotted here and there by archipelagos and small continents. It was colonized by Drywinds countries in the early centuries of their space age, where the colonies were left mostly to their own devices until early in the last half millenium.

Kiln: is exactly that: a furnace. Tortured by intense tidal interaction from orbiting so close to a colossal super-Jupiter, it regularly erupts in volcanic activity, and superheated steam rises from the oceans to sheath the moon in a caul of heat-trapping clouds, rendering the surface uninhabitable to all but the hardiest of creatures. It is so geologically active that normal plate tectonics does not function here, but a different set of processes recycle crust faster than on any other moon.

Inner Mist Belt: Kiln, as pictured, forms part of a gaseous ring around Blue Yonder called the Inner Mist Belt. Unlike its Drywinds counterpart, this Mist Belt is dense enough to allow clouds and weather patterns to form, and for strange, microgravity-adapted life-forms to flourish.

Other locales in Nocebo system
Queen & B.Y. asteroid moons: These small moons are mostly made of silicates, metal, and carbon compounds, with Queen harboring a few pockets of ice in sheltered craters. Miners work here.

Frolic: Named in goat-speak for a spirit of happiness and youth, Frolic zips around Nocebo at blistering speed due to its close orbit. It is extremely hot, tide-locked, and hailstorms of semi-molten rock pelt its sunward face.

Martina: Patron planet of a warrior-goddess, Martina is like a scaled-up Waterfall that's been tide-locked to the sun. One side is a permanent hurricane, the other is frigid cold; but life thrives in the oceans.

Jadestone & moons: Jadestone takes its name from the name of a house of beauty, opulence, and fertility god-spirits. It is an ice giant, made mostly of methane. As in goat legend, Jadestone is attended by two "guard" moons, and Atalanta, a great huntress who took the entire house for her husbands. The system is mined for rocket fuel.
Guardian is a methane-moon, similar to Titan in real life, that harbors ruins of a society long gone. It is thought to be an ancient colony.

Sloth: A small dwarf planet on the outer fringes of the system. It is of little economic interest due to its great distance, but an expedition is being planned. It has four undiscovered moons.

"
I will expand on the Mist Belt in the future. It is also colonized, in a way similar to Larry Niven's Integral Trees, or Karl Schroeder's Virga.
